On June 16th, Coordinated by Shandong Hi-Speed Group, Qilu Eurasia Railway Express departs a freight train in Qingdao Multi-modal Transport Center of the SCO Demonstration Zone. Loaded with chemical products, household appliances, auto parts and other kinds of goods, the train leaves for Milan, Italy for the first time. So far, the operation map of Qilu Eurasia Railway Express has stretched to the south of Europe and covered 50 cities in 20 countries.
Compared with ocean transportation, the advantage of the China Railway Express(CRE), which only takes half the transit time of the maritime freight, is obvious, Under the circumstance such as the pandemic continues，the CRE effectively makes up for the adverse effects of insufficient international shipping and air transport capacity. The new operation route opens up a new international logistics channel for the economic and trade exchanges between Shandong and Italy and its surrounding areas, and will play an important role in building the international logistics channels for Shandong province, promoting trade between China and countries along the "Belt and Road" and maintaining the stability of the global supply chain.
In order to better implement the “Stability on the six fronts" and "Security in the six areas” policy of Shandong province and to contribute the establishment of the “dual circulation” development pattern in which domestic economic cycle plays a leading role while international economic cycle remains its extension and supplement.
