Belgrade-Budapest railway construction starts

Modernization and reconstruction of the Serbian segment(Novi Sad-Subotica-the state border) of the Belgrade-Budapest Railway was kicked off at a ceremony by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Ning Jizhe, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission of China on November 22nd, the local time. Meng Yan, Executive Director of SDHS as subcontractor participated in the activity.

The Belgrade-Budapest railway with a total length of 350 km and a maximum speed of 200 km per hour is an important component of the Pan-Europe Corridor 10. The 55.8km-long Serbian Segment subcontracted by SDHS is expected to be completed within 33 months.

Looking forward to the future, SDHS shall continue strengthening cooperation with Serbian and other CEE countries based on the successful execution of infrastructure projects including Highway E763(section Obrenovac – Ljig) and the Chinese Culture Center in Belgrade so as to boost the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
