On September 9, the Zrenjanin expressway project undertaken by SDHS held its construction commencement ceremony. As the first project implemented by Chinese enterprises under the "planning + design + construction" model within the framework of the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation in the Field of Infrastructure between China and Serbia, it is also the most expensive infrastructure project implemented by Shandong enterprises in Serbia so far.
With a main line length of 105.4 kilometers and a maximum design speed of 130 kilometers per hour, the project connects Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, the industrial city Zrenjanin and the second largest city Novi Sad, and is a major traffic artery through northern Serbia.
