On July 26, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic visited the Danube Corridor Expressway project, built by Shandong Hi-Speed Group.

Vucic praised the project as the "Road to the Future", highlighting its importance for the economic development of eastern Serbia. He mentioned that once fully completed, the project will significantly reduce travel time from Belgrade to Veliko Gradište and Golubac, facilitating local travel and boosting regional tourism. He also expressed gratitude to the construction workers for their efforts in the sweltering heat.

Li Ming, the Chinese Ambassador to Serbia, stated that the project exemplifies the strong China-Serbia friendship and that China will stay committed to long-term cooperation with Serbia.

Despite complex geological conditions and extreme weather, the group has adhered to high standards, efficiency, and quality in construction, aiming to create a high-quality project that symbolizes friendship. Part of the main line was opened to traffic in February, with Vucic attending the ceremony.

Since entering Serbia in 2011, the group has signed several cooperation projects and plans to further utilize its advantages in the industry value chain to support the Belt and Road initiative with Chinese speed and quality.
