The 50th International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) was recently held in China’s Taiwan. The project "Development of a Multifunctional Control Device for Toll Ramps" implemented by the "Lingchuang Jingzhi" QC Team of Jinan Development Company, a subsidiary of Shandong Hi-Speed Group (SDHS), beat out hundreds of top teams for the ICQCC International Quality Management Gold Award once again.
ICQCC, called the "Olympics of quality" has convened 50 times since 1976. The theme for this year was "Continuing Implementation of QCC Activity, Moving Toward a Brighter Future of the World", with the event co-sponsored by the China Association for Quality and quality organizations from 13 other countries and regions.
The award-winning team, made up of the group's young leaders, has focused on the diverse needs of expressway management since its formation in 2022, advancing expressway operation technology in the direction of unmanned, automated, and intelligent systems. Their achievements have significantly improved the efficiency and safety of toll ramp operations, setting a benchmark for the industry's quality and technological upgrades.
Looking ahead, SDHS plans to further encourage the transformation and promotion of scientific research outcomes, address key challenges in industrial bottleneck areas and strategic projects, and provide strong impetus to high-quality development through the continuous innovation of its quality system.
