Infrastructure investment is a core pillar of Shandong Hi-Speed Group's business. During the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) period, the group completed 1,994.6 kilometers of expressways, pushing the provincial network past 7,400 kilometers and regaining its position among the nation's leading provinces. Under the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), the group aims to deliver an additional 2,130 kilometers of expressways, pushing the total length of operating and under-construction expressways in Shandong province beyond 10,000 kilometers.
The group has delivered several landmark projects, including China's first mega bridge cluster in northern frozen seas, the world's largest group of eight-lane highway tunnels, the country's first intelligent expressway expansion project, and China's first zero-carbon smart expressway.
These achievements have earned top industry honors, such as the Zhan Tianyou Award and the Li Chun Award. In 2025, the group targets "six openings, four project commencements, and 43.2 billion yuan ($6.1 billion) in investment", continuing to play its leading role in national transportation infrastructure development.
