SDHS signs contract for Vozd Karadjordje expressway in Serbia

Updated: May 08, 2026

Shandong Hi-Speed Group (SDHS) signed a commercial contract with the Serbian government for the Vozd Karadjordje expressway on May 7. This marks another milestone in the group's infrastructure cooperation with the Central European nation.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijevic, and Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming attended the signing ceremony in Belgrade.

The expressway, named after the eponymous Serbian revolutionary leader, is a key regional transport corridor and an important part of the country's national road network. Located in central Serbia, it will connect the Sumadija region with Pan-European Corridor X  and has a planned total length of about 145.79 kilometers.

The newly signed second and third sections span approximately 82.71 kilometers. Designed as a four-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 km/h, the project is expected to improve regional connectivity, boost transport efficiency, and provide stronger support for local economic development.

Since entering the Serbian market, SDHS has deepened its localized operations and contributed to local infrastructure development through its professional expertise and engineering capabilities. The signing reflects Serbia's recognition of SDHS's capabilities and marks a deepening of bilateral cooperation.

SDHS will leverage its full-industry-chain strengths in transport infrastructure to deliver a high-quality project and further strengthen its international footprint.
