Shandong Hi-Speed Group (SDHS) launched a large artificial intelligence model for transportation in Jinan on May 13. The company also unveiled a research center established with the support of a national road network monitoring and emergency response agency under the Ministry of Transport.
Developed by SDHS, the model draws on the company's rich industry experience and transport data. It supports expressway operations, infrastructure construction and maintenance, energy management, and internal administration.
The system includes 71 AI agents designed for 10 major applications, including road network management, emergency response, road maintenance and coordination with renewable energy systems.
The new research center will focus on road network safety, smarter travel services and the practical use of transport data. It aims to develop solutions that can be applied and adapted across the highway sector.
SDHS plans to continue improving the model and to expand its use across expressway construction, management, maintenance, operations, and public services. The group will also develop a distributed computing network powered by cleaner energy and collaborate with industry partners on AI applications for transport.
The initiatives are expected to support the digital transformation of expressway management and improve the efficiency of transport services.
